Main Engineering - Deck 8 - Highlights

Cores and Injectors: These two illustrations display the lowermost level of Main Engineering, highlighting the Intermix Cores, their Fuel Injectors and the Ejection Platforms these sit upon. Also shown are the Antimatter Feed which provides volatile antimatter to the cores from containment pods on Deck 9, and the overhead Deuterium (Matter) Fuel line feeding from tanks in the aft "tail" section of the ship.

Antimatter & Plasma Ejection Ports, and Floor Hatch: Both the Antimatter Feed and Plasma Ejection Systems connect to visible apertures on the hull to allow rapid dumping of fuel or output plasma in an emergency. The central Floor Hatch between these is used to transit material and equipment directly into the compartment and is typically sealed by a force field when open.

Crew Areas: located ahead of the lowermost level are compartments dedicated to the engineering crew, providing preparation and rest facilities, as well as storage and maintenance of emergency hazard suits, serving as a dramatic locations for gameplay scenarios.
